Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Arevli is an iPhone app for putting your phone down together. This policy says what Arevli stores, where it goes, who can see it, and how to delete it. "We" means Marcus Moore.
In short
- Arevli stores your account, your profile, your focus sessions, and what you set up with friends, circles and key holders.
- The apps you block never leave your phone.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell your data.
- You can delete your account in the app, unless you're holding someone else's key.
What Arevli stores on its servers
- Your account: your email address, and your password if you made one, which the sign-in service keeps only in a form that can't be read back. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your email comes from them, and your name if you share it. Apple may give us an address that forwards to you instead of your own. The sign-in service keeps what Apple or Google sent with your account; for Google that includes the address of your Google profile photo, which Arevli doesn't show or use. Until you sign out or delete your account, the sign-in service also keeps the IP address and the app or browser details of each sign-in. Deleting the app doesn't sign you out.
- Your profile: your name and username.
- Focus sessions: what each is for, how long you planned, how long it ran, when it started and ended, how it ended, and any note you add.
- Friends, circles and challenges: your friends and friend requests; the circles you're in, with their names, members, invite codes and dates; invitations to circles; challenges, with their titles and daily targets.
- Key-holder agreements: who holds your key, or whose key you hold; the most minutes they can give at once; any description you add; and each request for time, with the minutes, your reason, and the answer.
- Invites by email: the address you enter, and when. If someone invites you, we hold your address with their invite.
- On Android, the apps you list to avoid.
What stays on your phone
- The apps you block. Apple's Screen Time picker gives Arevli tokens that don't say which apps they are. They stay on your iPhone, so our servers never learn which apps you block, or when you used time your key holder gave you.
- Face ID. If you turn on the lock, your iPhone checks your Face ID or passcode. Arevli only learns whether it passed.
- Your settings for appearance and the lock.
What Arevli doesn't do
- No ads, and no analytics or tracking tools, in the app or on this website.
- We don't read your messages on other apps or track your browsing.
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- Arevli asks your iPhone for Screen Time and, if you turn on the lock, Face ID. It doesn't ask for your location, contacts or photos.
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us crash reports.
Who can see what
- Anyone signed in to Arevli can find your name and username by searching.
- Friends can see your profile and shared circles. So can anyone you send a friend request to, before they answer. Someone who sends you one can't see yours until you accept.
- Circle members can see your name, your place on the leaderboard and your challenge progress, and your focus sessions, notes included, from when you first shared a circle. Leaving a circle takes you off its leaderboard and challenges, and anyone who shares no other circle with you stops seeing your sessions, past ones included.
- Anyone signed in with a circle's invite code or link sees the circle's name, its owner's name and how many members it has, and can join until the code expires. Once they join, they see what members see.
- Your key holder sees the requests you send them, with your reason.
- No one else can see your sessions or settings.
How we use it
- To run Arevli: your activity, streaks, leaderboards and challenges; requests to your key holder; invites and circles.
- To send the emails below.
- To fix problems you report.
Emails
Arevli sends four kinds of email, from hello@arevli.com: your sign-up code; a password reset link when you ask for one; an alert to your key holder when you ask them for time; and an invite to someone a user names, which carries that user's name. Open and click tracking are off.
If you email us
Email to support@arevli.com is forwarded by Cloudflare to our support inbox at Gmail, and our replies go out through Resend. We keep your message and your address as long as we need them to answer you, and delete them when you ask. If you ask to try Arevli before it's in the App Store, we give your email address to Apple so that TestFlight can send you an invitation.
Who handles data for us
- Supabase runs Arevli's database, sign-in, file storage and server functions, on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
- Resend sends our email, including our replies to you, from the United States.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, the Hide My Email relay, the App Store and TestFlight.
- Google provides Sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare runs our domain and forwards email sent to our addresses.
- Gmail holds the email you send us.
- Netlify hosts this website.
Each uses the data only to provide its service to us.
Where it's stored
In the United States. If you live elsewhere, your data is transferred there.
How long we keep it
- Everything above, until you delete your account.
- When you do, we delete your profile, sessions, friendships, agreements, requests, circle memberships and the invites you sent, and disconnect Sign in with Apple. A circle you own passes to its earliest-joined member, or closes if no one else is in it. Challenges you created stay with their circle, without your name.
- An invite someone else sent to your address stays with their account until they delete it.
- Copies in backups and server logs last up to 7 days. Our email provider keeps the emails we send for 30 days.
Deleting your account
In Arevli, go to Settings and tap Delete account. If you're holding someone else's key, revoke that agreement first: Arevli won't delete an account that still holds one. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm it's you.
Your choices and rights
You can change your profile in the app and delete your account at any time. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else, email support@arevli.com from the address on your account. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
Arevli isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.
This website
arevli.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Netlify, which hosts it, records your IP address and the pages you open in its server logs. On a circle's join page, the code sits after the "#" in the link, which your browser never sends to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email about any change to how your data is used.
